<What is F2 visa?>

 

F2 visa is Korean residential visa which is suitable for foreigners who have a purpose of long-term stay in Korea.

As same as F6 visa (Marriage migrant visa), F2 visa acquisitors are permitted for a long-term residence.

Eligibility

 

1. An underage foreign child of Korean national or the spouse and child of F5 visa holder.

2. Recognized refugees.

3. An authorized foreign investor by FOREIGN INVESTMENT PROMOTION ACT

4. An appointed domestic employee by the "National Public Service Law, Civil Service Act" or " Local Public Officials Act" with an authorization from the Minister of Justice.

 

<The ‘Point System’>

 

The F-2 visa status application process is based on a point system.

 

This point system for F-2 visa has 120 maximum points and 2 years of stay permission is given to applicants with points of above 80.

After 3 years, F2 visa holders can apply for permanent residency in Korea.

 

Certain professionals who have stayed in Korea more than a year with an any types of visa listed below are eligible.
